Out with the old and in with the new. The KDM journey is far from over, it’s the same hands on the wheel with a shiny new motor. As we’re starting to pull the cover and reveal our exciting new brand, the question remains — how did we come up with our company name?
Our initial thoughts were that we needed a name that better reflected our place in the industry, so we started looking at options that had ‘design’, ‘branding’ or ‘logo’ as part of the name, but in an inclusive and elegant way.
Enter Rebrand. We really liked this choice from our first brainstorming session because it had the most overt relationship to the company’s mission to offer premium branding services that inspire growth and progress. Unfortunately, we had limited options in terms of availability and there were concerns that it would be difficult to form a strong identity around such a commonly used industry term. Back to the drawing board.
An element we loved from Rebrand was the prefix Re. There was a lot of scope to keep the prefix and swap out the word on the end on not only the final company name, but alongside marketing material and general tone of voice. We went through various iterations including Rework, Reinvent and Recreate before concluding the process on what would be our final name.
Refresh was a name that applied excellently to the company’s ideals. Rebranding is a process which includes updating and freshening a company’s appearance to keep them fresh, current, and up to date. Also. after outlining our company values, we felt like this was a chance to refresh the industry by fostering a healthy and balanced working environment for our employees. The ultimate aim of the process was to reinvigorate the company and instil it with new energy to stimulate growth and progress. The word Refresh encapsulates all of these ideas in just seven letters.
While we were pleased with the name ‘Refresh,’ we realised that the accompanying URL would need to include terms like ‘agency’ or ‘creative,’ which we thought would make it overly cumbersome. To maintain a concise and memorable name, we chose to extend the ‘sh’ sound by adding an extra ‘h’ to the end.
As we embark on this new chapter, we’re excited to reintroduce ourselves as Refreshh. This name not only reflects our commitment to providing fresh, innovative branding solutions but also our dedication to creating a positive and cultivating work environment.
As we step forward as Refreshh, we’re excited to continue our journey of helping brands realize their full potential. We’re still the same team—creative, passionate, and driven—now with a name that perfectly reflects who we are and what we do. So here’s to Re: the start of something new, the promise of what’s possible, and the beginning of our next great adventure.
